About Sam Szabla
Plunging himself into the corporate world with the opening of his first retail store in 1996, entrepreneur Sam Szabla has achieved strong success as a businessman. Szabla recognizes that fact and makes giving back a priority.
Former Kauai, Hawaii, resident Sam Szabla opened Hawaiian House Inc. on his home island to fulfill his interior design passion. Sam Szabla, who took some of his guidance from chains like Pottery Barn and Z Gallerie Home Furnishings, sold household accessories, including soaps, candles, bedding, and pillows, from his establishment in Hawaii. Designer Sam Szabla created his own soap and candle line for Hawaiian House Inc., as well as original bedding and pillow designs.
Sam Szabla eventually grew Hawaiian House Inc. to five stores, dispersed among the Hawaiian islands of Oahu, Maui, and Kauai. Due in a large part to its wealth of products from exotic locations such as Argentina, Indonesia, Mexico, and parts of Europe, Hawaiian House Inc. and Sam Szabla gained statewide attention with articles in the Kauai Business Review and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
A devotee of the arts, Sam Szabla established a program to promote local Hawaiian artisans who, like Szabla, wanted their works appreciated and used by the public.
Following his success in setting up Hawaiian House Inc., Sam Szabla worked as CEO, General Manager, and Hotel Designer for South Beach Plaza Hotels and Villas in Miami Beach, where Szabla employed his talented design acumen to furnish and decorate bars and restaurants. As an in-house designer with Hibiscus Island Home, Sam Szabla designs private-label bedding and textiles for exclusive homes in Beverly Hills, Paris, Sao Paolo, and Barcelona.
Sam Szabla continues to help others to find their paths and become successful, as he has become within the interior design field. Volunteer Sam Szabla assists young adults and his former employees in pursuing their own dreams of small business ownership by providing valuable first-hand advice and knowledge. A proponent of AIDS awareness, Sam Szabla helps feed and clothe the homeless in his spare time.
